We’ve listed all the new iOS emojis below, explaining what they could mean and how to get them if you can’t already see them on your iPhone or iPad.

How Apple Added New Emojis to iOS

This addition of the new emojis to iOS has been long-awaited. Emojipedia published a first-look at the new emojis that Apple was looking at introducing in late January.

You might not be aware of this, but emojis also need to be approved by an external organization before they can be added to any device. These additions were approved in September by the Unicode Consortium, which is responsible for approving all emoji before they can reach devices. The emojis were then made available for developers as part of the iOS 15.4 beta, and are now available to anyone enjoying all the new iOS 15.4 features on their Apple devices.

How to Get the New Emojis on Your iPhone

If you can’t see the new emojis on your iPhone, chances are you haven’t updated to iOS 15.4 or later yet. To update your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update. You should see the latest version of iOS or iPadOS there. Download and install the update to get all the new emojis.

Until you download the update, you won’t be able to see the emojis, even if someone sends them to you in a message. You’ll just see a question mark in place of the emoji.

Enjoy Your New Emojis

We have to say, the 38 new emojis do look excellent! We’re sure that they’ll be used in many of your chats, adding a good touch of fun to any conversation. This, alongside the other new features, makes iOS 15.4 a must-have update.
