The Stallions won each of their first two matchups with the Breakers and did so largely on the back of their strong defense. Birmingham beat New Orleans 22-13 in Week 3 before defeating them by a single point — 10-9 — in Week 8.
The Breakers’ defense has played well in their two matchups with the Stallions. However, All-USFL quarterback Kyle Sloter has struggled with turnovers in those contests. The league’s second-leading passer with 1,798 yards will need to avoid interceptions this time around to give his team a fighting chance to win what is sure to be another defensive slugfest.

Meanwhile, the Stallions will rely on quarterback J’Mar Smith, running back Bo Scarbrough and receiver Victor Bolden Jr. to key their offense. And defensively, DeMarquis Gates and Scooby Wright III will be asked to slow down New Orleans’ Jordan Ellis-led running game while throwing some confusing looks at Sloter.

The second USFL playoff game of the league’s semifinal Saturday will be broadcast on NBC. Jac Collinsworth will be the play-by-play announcer for the game while former Cowboys coach Jason Garrett will provide analysis.
Corey Robinson will serve as the sideline reporter with Sara Perlman hosting halftime coverage.
