MORE: Live updates, highlights of Colts-Broncos game

While the hot-seat talk surrounding Nathaniel Hackett is more than a bit premature, the Broncos’ rookie head coach hasn’t exactly inspired confidence among Denver fans to be the answer as the team’s new boss. Some of that has been exacerbated by Russell Wilson’s general ineffectiveness through four games so far this year, but the on-field decisions have trumped the production of the team’s new passer.

Speaking of ineffective passers, the Frank Reich and the Colts have one of those, as well. The first four games of the Matt Ryan era in Indianapolis haven’t exactly vindicated GM Chris Ballard and the rest of the Colts front office looking for another stopgap passer. While Ryan has thrown five touchdowns, he’s also thrown five interceptions, though a solid Week 4 performance against the Titans could quiet some doubts at least for a week.

If neither head coach can squeeze some more quality football out of their passers in disappointing starts to their seasons, then the primetime lights could heat up their seats just a bit more.
