It will be the 16th and final meeting between Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski — who is retiring following the conclusion of March Madness — and Tom Izzo, himself a legendary coach who has led the Spartans every year since the 1995-96 season.

Krzyzewski and Izzo’s 16th meeting, fittingly, has a Sweet 16 berth on the line. Coach K, of course, is looking to ride off into the sunset with his 13th Final Four berth and sixth national championship to go along with his 1,199 wins, which rank more than anyone in Division I history. Izzo ranks 30th among Division I coaches with 666 wins and has eight Final Four berths. He also has one national championship from the 2000 NCAA Tournament.

Coach K has a 12-3 record against Izzo, including a 3-2 record in the NCAA Tournament. Izzo has won two of the last three meetings, however, which includes a hard-fought 68-67 victory in the 2019 NCAA Tournament that sent the Spartans to the Final Four.
